Administrative Assistant, San Francisco

The primary purpose of the Administrative Assistant position is to provide administrative support for IIBA’s San Francisco immigration legal program. The Administrative Assistant will ensure the smooth running of the office and help improve procedures and day-to-day operations.

Volunteer Manager, San Francisco

The Volunteer Manager will be responsible for placing volunteers “across” the organization to fill positions specific to aiding IIBA staff in interpreting for clients when IIBA does not have the language skills or the capacity to address the needs of a prospective or current client. The Volunteer Manager will be responsible for holding an annual volunteer appreciation event to recognize the contributions of IIBA’s volunteers. The ideal candidate will be bi or trilingual and a professionally trained interpreter or have significant experience in interpretation.

Senior Staff Attorney, Redwood City

The Senior Staff Attorney supports IIBA’s mission by providing quality immigration-specific legal service, advice, and representation in support of low income individuals; provides supervision for staff, volunteers and new hires; represents IIBA at events for clients, and partner organizations; and maintains high standards for legal protocols and record keeping.

Senior Staff Attorney, Petaluma

The Senior Staff Attorney supports IIBA’s mission by providing quality immigration-specific legal service, advice, and representation in support of low income individuals; provides supervision for staff, volunteers and new hires; represents IIBA at events for clients, and partner organizations; and maintains high standards for legal protocols and record keeping.   

Part-Time Administrative Assistant, Fremont

The primary purpose of the Administrative Assistant is to provide part-time (minimum 20 hours a week) administrative support for IIBA’s Fremont immigration legal program. The Administrative Assistant will support the smooth running of the office and help improve procedures and day-to-day operations. 

Senior Staff Attorney, Oakland

The Senior Staff Attorney supports IIBA’s mission by providing quality immigration-specific legal service, advice, and representation in support of low income individuals; provides supervision for staff, volunteers and new hires; represents IIBA at events for clients, and partner organizations; and maintains high standards for legal protocols and record keeping. 

Law Student Intern / Extern / Law Clerk

IIBA is interested in hosting law students during the academic year as part- or full-time interns or externs, and during the summer as full-time law clerks. Interns, externs, and law clerks will gain experience in humanitarian immigration law through work on individual legal cases and, depending on the needs of the office, outreach or other special projects. These are unpaid positions.

Immigration Legal Fellowship

The Immigration Institute of the Bay Area (IIBA) invites law students and recent law school graduates to apply for externally-funded legal fellowships. Fellows will be placed at one of IIBA’s seven offices, where they will support IIBA’s mission by providing immigration legal service, advice, and representation in support of low-income individuals.
