The Institute continued expanding existing programs throughout its ninth decade. The Safety Network, which kept the Institute connected to the South of Market neighborhood, offered workshops examining the impact of violence on children and launched an innovative restorative justice center, South of Market and Tenderloin Community Court. YouthCares launched Partners in Learning, offering youth-led tutoring and college workshops, while maintaining the program’s original services connecting youth and elders in the community through translations services, personal assistance, and social events and activities.
