We’re always seeking volunteer support, whether it’s for a one-time event, for a short term, or for a long-term commitment. Everyone is welcome, from volunteer attorneys seeking immigration experience, to law students looking for an internship, to members of the community who just want to help. We provide training and supervision to volunteers committed to helping our diverse group of clients.

May 30th Fremont Workshop Volunteer

Help eligible immigrants become citizens at our free citizenship in Fremont on Saturday, May 30th, 2020 from 9am to 5pm (shifts available). We need all levels of support to hold a successful event. No experience is necessary, and we will provide training and food.

Napa Office Assistant

We are seeking a volunteer who will provide critical office support to the legal team of IIBA. If you are interested in working alongside a committed and passionate team of individuals who are working to do what they can to protect and advocate for immigrants and newcomers, this is the ideal environment.

Spanish / English Translator

The Spanish / English translator volunteer will support the legal staff preparing immigration applications.

English as a Second Language / Civics Teacher

IIBA is seeking volunteer teachers for our Citizenship Preparation Class, leading small groups or individuals through our 12-week curriculum.

Napa Citizenship Workshop Volunteer

IIBA and our collaborative partners offer citizenship application workshops every month, to inform the community about the naturalization process and to assist eligible individuals to apply for U.S. Citizenship.

Office Assistant

The volunteer will provide office support to the staff, will have compassion for the issues faced by low-income immigrants, and will have a commitment to serving the community with dignity and respect. 

U Visa / VAWA Law Intern

IIBA represents clients with U Visa and Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) self-petitions, educates and screens for eligibility, and provides technical assistance to a national network of immigrant-serving organizations. The U Visa / VAWA law intern will assist with legal casework and ongoing office responsibilities
